Heathland fire in Northampton 'quickly controlled'
A large fire in a Northampton field was "quickly controlled" by fire services after it broke out yesterday afternoon.
Northamptonshire Fire were called to the blaze near Lodge Farm and Rye Hill at 5.24pm.
Daventry neighbourhood sergeant Sam Dobbs spotted the fire on his journey home.
He tweeted that the fire service had "quickly controlled" the "large heathland fire".
