A stone statue of a dog has been stolen from a Northampton home.

The cast stone statue of a hunting dog was stolen from a residential address in Lanercost Walk, between 6.35pm and 7pm on Friday (October 20).

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “A man and woman entered the driveway of the house and picked up the slate grey coloured statue, which weighed between 60-80kg, and walked off towards Skiddaw Walk.

“The man was in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6ft and of a slim build with short black tight curly hair and a stubbly moustache. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

“The woman was also in her late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 4in and had a blonde ponytail. She was wearing a baseball cap, long coat and was carrying a rucksack.”

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between the stated times or who may have been offered or seen the pictured statue for sale in unusual circumstances.
