Kidnappers, drug dealers, car thieves and a man who stole 37 joints of meat in a shoplifting spree.
These are some of criminals who operated in and around Northampton who were jailed by our courts during January.
This list is not exhaustive but a compilation of a handful of the most serious examples of criminality in our county where the long arm of the law caught up with offenders — in one case more than 20 years later.

SAMUEL COX was involved in a shooting at the former King David pub in Northampton in January 2018. Cox, 23, was jailed for 15 years for conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life after a shotgun was fired multiple times through doors and windows while customers were inside enjoying drinks.

BRADLEY MUNDIN and CHRISTOPER CAIN had their dealing operation rumbled after they were found using a Ford Focus to stash drugs, leading to £850,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine being seized. Cain (left) was jailed for 41⁄2 years and Mundin for three years two months.

MANTAS AURYLA sent terrified shoppers fleeing and threatened staff at knifepoint in a local Asda supermarket. The 22-year-old was arrested by armed officers and jailed for 18 months.

DEREK EDWARDS was locked up for a minimum of six years after victims of child abuse 20 years ago bravely came forward. A judge described the 59-year-old, of Forfar Street, Northampton, as "a high-risk sexual offender."
